Nella galleria dell’attuale ristorante Miralago, aveva il suo attracco la teleferica che entrò in funzione nel 1907.
La teleferica a contrappeso d’acqua, tra il Porto e Cimaporto, chiamata “Filo Cozzaglio”, copriva uno sbalzo in verticale di circa 400m. Cessò l’attività nel 1931.
Dal 1898 al 1918 funzionò anche il “Filo Berasi”, a contrappeso di pietre, dal Porto ad una piattaforma posta a sud della canonica vecchia. La loro costruzione facilitò il trasporto tra il lago e l’altopiano delle merci che giungevano al porto e che, prima di allora, venivano trasportate a forza di gambe lungo il sentiero.
Durante la prima guerra mondiale venne attivata una terza teleferica militare con arrivo sul sagrato della chiesa parrocchiale.
La famiglia Rossi acquistò il Ristorante Miralago nel 1960.
Nell’inverno del 1965 iniziarono i lavori per ingrandire con putrelle di acciaio la terrazza per renderla sospesa nel vuoto e, contemporaneamente, si iniziò a forare la roccia per ricavare una grotta interna di circa 3,5mt di larghezza e 7mt d lunghezza.
Per questo lavoro complicato e pericoloso aveva assunto una ditta di Vallio Terme composta da 3 fratelli specializzati nelle cave di marmo.
Sopra la roccia c’erano e ci sono tuttora abitazioni e non era assolutamente possibile utilizzare delle mine, pertanto tutto il lavoro venne fatto a mano, prima forando la roccia con la trivella e poi demolendo con cunei e mazza.
La previsione era di fare “il buco” in quaranta giorni ma, iniziati i lavori, fu evidente che questa specifica roccia era molto più dura del marmo e, lavorando 10 ore al giorno, ci misero sei mesi.
Nel 1970 vennero costruite le prime camere ed al ristorante si aggiunse l’hotel.
In 1907 a water counterweight cableway called “Filo Cozzaglio” was established between the port and Cimaporto. The end of the route was in the tunnel of the current restaurant Miralago.
It stopped working in the 1931. From 1898 to 1918 a stone-counterweight cableway called “Filo Berasi” was also operative, connecting the port to a platform placed on the south of the old rectory.
The existence of the two cableway made easier to transport goods which were arriving to the port, from the lake to the upland, while before their construction, everything had to be transported on foot along the path.
During the First World War a third military cableway was activated with arrival on the parvis of the parish church.
The Rossi family purchased the Miralago restaurant in 1960.In the winter of 1965, work began to enlarge the terrace and make it suspended over the lake with steel beams; at the same time, drilling began on the rock to create an internal cave of about 3.5 meters wide and 7 meters long. For this complicated and dangerous job, a company from Vallio Terme was hired, made up of 3 brothers specialised in marble quarries. Above the rock there were and there are still houses and it was not possible to use explosives, therefore all the work was done by hand, first drilling the rock with a big auger, and then demolishing with wedges and sledgehammers. Forty days were estimated for the realisation of the “hole”, but as the works started, it was evident that this specific rock was much harder than marble and in the end it took six months, working 10 hours a day. In 1970 the first rooms were built, and the hotel was added to the restaurant.
1907 wurde zwischen dem Hafen und Cimaporto eine Wasser-Gegengewichtsseilbahn namens „Filo Cozzaglio“ eingerichtet. Das Ende der Route befand sich im Tunnel des aktuellen Restaurants Miralago.
1931 wurde die Arbeit eingestellt. Von 1898 bis 1918 war auch eine Seilbahn mit Steingegengewicht namens „Filo Berasi“ in Betrieb, die den Hafen mit einer Plattform im Süden des alten Pfarrhauses verband.
Die Existenz der beiden Seilbahnen erleichterte den Transport von Gütern, die vom See bis zum Hochland im Hafen ankamen, während vor ihrem Bau alles zu Fuß auf dem Weg transportiert werden musste.
Während des Ersten Weltkriegs wurde mit der Ankunft auf dem Parvis der Pfarrkirche eine dritte militärische Seilbahn aktiviert.
Die Familie Rossi kaufte 1960 das Restaurant Miralago. Im Winter 1965 begannen die Arbeiten, die Terrasse zu vergrößern und sie mit Stahlträgern über dem See aufzuhängen. Gleichzeitig wurde mit dem Bohren des Felsens begonnen, um eine innere Höhle mit einer Breite von etwa 3,5 Metern und einer Länge von 7 Metern zu schaffen. Für diesen komplizierten und gefährlichen Job wurde eine Firma aus Vallio Terme engagiert, die sich aus drei Brüdern zusammensetzte, die auf Marmorsteinbrüche spezialisiert waren. Über dem Felsen gab und gibt es immer noch Häuser, deswegen war es nicht möglich, Sprengstoff zu verwenden. Daher wurden alle Arbeiten von Hand ausgeführt. Zuerst wurde der Felsen mit einer großen Bohrmaschine ausgehöhlt und weiter mit Keilen und Vorschlaghämmern abgerissen. Für die Realisierung des “Lochs” wurden 40 Tage veranschlagt, aber als die Arbeiten begannen, war es offensichtlich, dass dieses spezielle Gestein viel härter als Marmor war, und am Ende dauerte es sechs Monate, beim Arbeiten 10 Stunden am Tag. 1970 wurden die ersten Zimmer gebaut und das Hotel dem Restaurant hinzugefügt.
