voiandes

voiandes di Tremosine

Delightful hamlet at the foot of Monte Cocca offers splendid mountain landscapes and a small but very suggestive historic center. In the surroundings there are trails that will take you to high altitudes between unspoiled nature and mountain huts.

about

This charming hamlet fascinates for its simplicity and attention to detail. The name of the village is mentioned as early as 1268 in a document of the Benacense diplomatic code. Furthermore, materials from a pre-Roman settlement were found in the center.

The inhabitants of Voiandes have always been great host and love to look after their village: you can get to know them and appreciate their spirit of cooperation and concord both in spring and summer, during the village festival and in other events organized in the area and in winter with Christmas decorations and the traditional nativity scene that enchants visitors.

what to see

The small church dates back to the mid-1700s. It is a simple rectangular building with a gable roof. Noteworthy is the painting with the Madonna with the Saints Vincenzo Ferreri and Antonio da Padova, to whom the church is dedicated. The patronal feast is on 13 June. On the road from Voiandes to Secastello, in via Polzone, there is a wooden cross to mark, in the past, a meeting place for prayers and rogations.
