Cimaporto (dal dialetto “n sima pòrt”) è il punto di sbocco del sentiero che sale dal Porto di Tremosine a Pieve. Prima della realizzazione della strada della Forra (1913), il sentiero rappresentava la principale via di ingresso di persone e di merci all’altopiano di Tremosine.
Il piccolo porto fu per molto tempo il punto di attracco di barche e di piccole chiatte.
I battelli e i piroscafi più grandi si fermavano al largo, mentre merci e persone raggiungevano la terraferma mediante una barca:
Esso comunque costituiva il principale mezzo di collegamento fra Tremosine e i più importanti centrI abitati del lago. Il porto cadde in disuso con l’apertura nel 1931 della strada statale “Gardesana Occidentale”.
Cimaporto (from the local dialect “n sima pòrt”, wich means “on top of the port”) is the end of the path wich goes from the porto f Tremosin to Pieve. Before the construction of the road “della Forra” (1913), the path was the main entry point for people and goods to the upland of Tremosine. The small port was a dock for boats and small barges for a long time. Ferries and bigger steamships used to stop offshore, while goods and people had to reach the coast by boat. The port was the main connection between Tremosine and the most important popolate areas around the lake. It was gradually abanoned after the construction of the road “Gardesana Occidentale” (western Garda) in 1931.
Cimaporto (vom lokalen Dialekt „n sima pòrt“, was „oben auf dem Hafen“ bedeutet) ist das Ende des Weges, der vom Hafen von Tremosin nach Pieve führt. Vor dem Bau der Straße „della Forra“ (1913) war der Weg der wichtigste Einstiegspunkt für Menschen und Güter in das Hochland von Tremosin. Der kleine Hafen war lange Zeit ein Dock für Boote und kleine Lastkähne. Fähren und größere Dampfschiffe hielten früher vor der Küste an, während Güter und Menschen die Küste mit dem Boot erreichen mussten. Der Hafen war die Hauptverbindung zwischen Tremosin und den wichtigsten Bevölkerungsgebieten rund um den See. Es wurde nach dem Bau der Straße „Gardesana Occidentale“ (westlicher Gardasee) im Jahr 1931 schrittweise aufgegeben.
