Il Bestone è tra le escursioni di Tremosine più gettonate ed apprezzate, sia per la bellezza dei panorami sia per la facilità di raggiungimento. Ad aumentarne la fama ha indubbiamente aiutato la gara di corsa in montagna BVG TRAIL che negli ultimi anni ha rilanciato l’affascinante percorso escursionistico di più giorni “Bassa Via del Garda” che attraversa il Parco Alto Garda Bresciano da Salò a Limone sul Garda ed ha nel monte Bestone, una delle cime più caratteristiche. Il nostro percorso inizia dalla Località Campi, in splendida posizione sul lago, famosa per le strutture alberghiere e per i numerosi campi da tennis. Da qui si parte a piedi seguendo le indicazioni per l’Hotel Le Balze e, raggiunto, si prosegue in direzione nord fino alla fine della strada asfaltata dove, sulla sinistra inizia il sentiero escursionistico, segnavia 110 BVG. Il sentiero si svolge in direzione nord lungo la cresta, prima sulle ampie visuali offerte dalle anticime e poi, raggiunta Bocchetta Rocca, proseguendo per l’ascesa finale alla cima del monte Bestone. Sulla cima, dove è posizionata una campana, inizia il nostro sentiero di discesa; percorso un primo tratto molto ripido (vi invitiamo a percorrerlo con attenzione) si devia sulla sinistra sul vecchio sentiero militare che, molto più dolcemente e con numerosi tornanti, scende verso i prati di località Fornaci. Da Fornaci grazie prima alla strada bianca, direzione sud, e poi per la strada comunale si rientra agevolmente alla partenza. Durante questo breve viaggio, dopo pochi passi lungo il sentiero potrete vedere i segni di un terribile incendio che la notte del 1 gennaio 2017 ha danneggiato il versante a lago. Inoltre con un po’ di attenzione potrete notare le tracce, recentemente scoperte, della prima guerra mondiale (trincee, sentieri e gallerie). Il Bestone era infatti un luogo ideale per avere una visuale sulla zona nord del lago.

The BVG TRAIL mountain running race has certainly helped to increase its fame, in fact in recent years has relaunched the fascinating multi-day hiking route “Bassa Via del Garda” that crosses the Alto Garda Bresciano Park from Salò to Limone sul Garda. Monte Bestone is one of the most characteristic peaks. Our route starts from località Campi, a great location with beautiful lake views, famous for its hotels and numerous tennis courts. From here you walk following the signs for Hotel Le Balze and, once you reach it, continue northwards to the end of the paved road where, on the left, the hiking trail begins, marked 110 BVG. The trail runs north along the ridge, first on the wide views offered by the fore-summits and then, reached Bocchetta Rocca, continuing for the final climb to the peak of Monte Bestone. On the top enjoy the view! The downhill path starts where there is a bell, after a very steep first stretch (we invite you to walk carefully) turn left onto the old military trail which, much more gently and with numerous bends, descends towards the meadows of località Fornaci. From località Fornaci follow the dirt road, heading south, and then take main road to return at the starting point. During this short journey, after a few steps along the path you will see the signs of a terrible fire that damaged the side of the lake on the night of January 1, 2017. In addition, with a little attention you will notice the recently discovered traces of the First World War (trenches, paths and tunnels). The Bestone was in fact an ideal place to have an view over the northern area of the lake.

Wenn Sie es erreicht haben, fahren Sie weiter nach Norden bis zum Ende der asphaltierten Straße, wo links der Wanderweg mit der Aufschrift 110 BVG beginnt. Der Weg verläuft entlang des Bergrückens nach Norden, zuerst auf den weiten Aussichten, die die Prognosen bieten, und dann, nachdem er Bocchetta Rocca erreicht hat, geht es weiter zum endgültigen Aufstieg auf den Gipfel des Mount Bestone. Mit ein wenig Aufmerksamkeit werden Sie außerdem die kürzlich entdeckten Spuren des Ersten Weltkriegs (Gräben, Wege und Tunnel) bemerken. Das Bestone war in der Tat ein idealer Ort, um einen Blick über den nördlichen Bereich des Sees zu haben.
